Rev. Renée Bernadette Griffith Grantham, age 34, of Springfield, Missouri, entered into the presence of her Heavenly Father on April 15, 2024.

Renée was born on January 10, 1990, in Sacramento, California, to Lew and Christine Griffith. She was raised in Butte, Montana, and graduated valedictorian from Butte High School, class of 2008.

In 2012, she graduated summa cum laude from Evangel University with a bachelor’s degree in English and Intercultural Studies.  After graduating from Evangel, Renée spent two years teaching and serving through missions work in Moldova and Russia.

Upon returning to the U.S., she became a licensed minister with the Assemblies of God.  She then attended the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, graduating summa cum laude with a Master of Divinity in 2019.

Renée was united in marriage to her best friend and love of her life, Mark Andrew Grantham, on May 10, 2020 in Springfield, Missouri.

Renée was a writer for the World Missions Department of the Assemblies of God and taught theology at Evangel University and James River College. She was an active freelance writer for multiple organizations.  An avid runner and triathlon competitor, Renée shared her love of the sport with students at New Covenant Academy, where she coached track and cross country.

Renée and her husband, Mark, created Ozark Wheelchair Adventures, a non-profit that facilitates outdoor therapeutic recreation for those with spinal cord injuries.  She had many hobbies and interests including travel, triathlon training, baking, reading theology books, dancing, gardening, being in the outdoors, trying new coffees, playing the piano, writing, and choosing to live life with intention and celebration. Nothing, however, brought her more fulfillment and joy than spending time with her Mark.

Renée will be remembered as someone who served her Heavenly Father and selflessly prioritized others. She was described by others as joyful, faithful, loving, loyal, intentional, intelligent, witty, and radiant. Most importantly, Renée leaves behind a legacy of loving God and fiercely loving people.

Renée is survived by her husband, Mark Grantham; her parents, Lew and Christine Griffith; and treasured family and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 26, 2024 from 4:30 pm – 7:00 pm at Central Assembly of God, 1301 N. Boonville, Springfield MO.

Renée’s Celebration of Life service will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 27, 2024. A one-hour viewing will be held prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Renée’s memory to the Renée Griffith Grantham Scholarship Fund, in care of Evangel University, 1111 N. Glenstone Ave, Springfield MO 65802, (417) 865-2815.
