Rex O. Buff passed away on Monday July 19, 2010, after a brief battle with Cancer. He was born on January 18, 1927, in Springfield, Mo., to Ralph and Beulah Buff. He attended Springfield Senior High, graduating in 1944. He served in the Army and was a paratrooper during the war and was honorably discharged with the rank of Private First Class.
For many years Rex worked for Colonial Bread Company handling a bread route serving many of Springfield’s finest grocery stores. After his retirement from Colonial he worked as a Realtor for several years.
Rex was married in 1946, to Maxine Hart, and they had two daughters, Rita Rexine and Brenda Layne. He was a long time member of South Haven Baptist Church.
Rex is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Beulah Buff; and his brother, Ralph Junior. He is survived by his siblings, Tim Buff, Ted Buff, Gaveta Havens, Edna Cromer and Yvonne Steffek; his children, Rita Lowther and her husband Craig Lowther, Brenda (Buffy) Butler and her husband Geoffrey Butler; eight grandchildren, Rob Feuerbacher and his wife Kristin, Mark Feuerbacher and his wife Shawna, Brad Feuerbacher and his wife Jennifer, Lauren Lowther, Blake Lowther, Brooke Evans and her husband Stephen, Nicole Butler-Anderson and her husband Shane and Sam Butler . Rex was blessed with seven great grandchildren, Madison and Trent Feuerbacher, Cole and Max Feuerbacher, Karson, Hayden and Hudson Feuerbacher.
Rex also had a world of friends that he met and enjoyed over his many years in Springfield. He enjoyed life to the fullest and was always a person you could count on for help of any sort.
Visitation will be Thursday evening, July 22, 2010, in Greenlawn East Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral and burial will be held on Friday July 23, 2010, at 10 a.m., in the Missouri Veterans Memorial Cemetery .
