Richard A. Graves, 58, of Ozark, suddenly departed this life on Sunday, March 24, 2013. Richard was born on October 12, 1954, in Springfield. He was the only son of Donald and Alberta (Dunn) Graves. He attended Hillcrest High School where he graduated in 1972. On April, 27, 1973, he was united in marriage to Jeanne McKenzie. Four children were born to this union. Richard spent his entire life honoring his greatest passion, CARS. He worked as an Auto Body Repair Technician his entire career. Once the owner of Top Craft Bodyworks for almost 20 years, he was a master of his trade. He spent the last ten years working alongside his former boss, and close friend Greg Mertz at Dings-n-Things. He had a deep love and detail for his work. His other love for most of his life was motorcycles. In his younger days, you would never find him without one of his many beloved choppers. Later on, his passion turned to his grandchildren. They completed his life.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Alberta, and one sister, Patricia. He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Jeanne, of the home. Two sons, Dylan, of Ozark, and Tyler and girlfriend Nakita, Sparta. Daughters, Amanda Walker and husband Gabe, Wheatland, and Marissa Graves, Ozark. Seven grandchildren, Shaylin, Paxton, Kailee, Kaden, Kanon, Bryar, and Gavyn. One Great grand daugher, Remedie. Two sisters, Wanda Campbell and husband Mike, Springfield, Sharon Wilson and husband Jim, Springfield, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Richard leaves behind a host of close friends and extended family. Not a single person who met him can tell you that he didn’t leave a lasting impression. My Daddy was a legend, and his legacy will live on for years to come.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2013, from 6-8pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO 65803. Please help us to honor the life of the greatest man that any of us have ever known.
