Richard Achor Harman, born to Oral R. and Edna Mae Harman of Sullivan, MO, December 27, 1939, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 29, 2012.
Committed to his Lord his entire life, Richard was saved and baptized at the age of 13. He and his wife, Shirley, were members of Second Baptist Church for 31 years and were active in many children’s ministries.
He graduated from Sullivan High School and South¬west Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. Major Harman, an Army Airborne Infantry Veteran, continued his federal ser¬vice as a letter carrier until his retirement.
Richard is survived by his wife, Shirley; sons Rich¬ard and wife Kelly and Stephen and wife Brenda; and grandsons Ian and Dayne Harman.
Services for Richard will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2012 in Greenlawn Funeral Home East with visitation from 10-11 a.m., before service. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO.
