Richard Alfred Carlin, age 95, of Republic, MO, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Missouri Veterans Home. He was born April 25, 1915, in Boston, MA, to Louis and Eleanor (Finnegan) Carlin. He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church. He served in the U.S. United States Army during WWII. He loved to read, play golf, and travel.
He was preceded in death by His parents Louis C Carlin and Eleanor Carlin Finnegan; first wife Thelma, and his second wife Oneda; and two brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by three nieces: Harriet Thurman,of Republic, MO, Deborah Dearing of Springfield, MO, and Marlene Alexander of CA; two nephews: Eldor Von Stroh of Republic, MO, and Eric Bohne of OK; several great nieces, nephews, and other relatives; as well as his church family from Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, October 7, 2010, with Pastor Duane Maas officiating. Burial will be held in Hazelwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Redeemer Lutheran Church, or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home South, Springfield, MO.
