Richard Arthur Strauss, age 85, of Branson, MO, passed away Friday, July 2, 2010. He was born July 8, 1924, in Rio, WI, to Walter and Anna (Jurgenson) Strauss. He served in the United States Navy during WWII aboard the USS Terror, he was also an active member in the VFW, American Legion, 40ET8, a 32 degree Mason, Odd Fellow & Rebeca’s, Eastern Star, Model Railroad Club, a life long member of Rio Redeemer Lutheran Church and served 37 years as a volunteer Fireman in Rio, WI.
He was preceded in death by Parents, Walter C. and Anna C. Strauss, Two sons, Blaine and Blair Strauss. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Uvonne Arlene Strauss, Branson, MO. four children, Steven (Carolyn) Strauss of Taneyville, MO, Renee (Robert) Selje of El Paso, TX, Timothy (Mel) Strauss of Rapid City, SD and Brian (Lucette) Strauss of Sparks, NV. A brother, Charles Strauss of Rio, WI. Seven grandchildren, Sheila, Scott, Heather, Tiffany, Robert II, Brandon and Kira. Six Great-grandchildren, Ian, Dean, Madison, Nathan, Julian and Ava. And a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at a later date in Rio, WI. Local services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home, Branson, MO.
