Richard B. Monroe, 84, of Springfield passed away on January 31, 2011. He was born May 6, 1926 in Springfield, MO to Don M. and Beula G. Monroe.
Richard was a Navy Veteran of World War II. Richard retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1988 after 40 years of service. He was a member of First and Calvary Presbyterian Church.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Tommy D. Monroe of Denver, CO.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Roberta J. Monroe; stepson Marvin R. Ward and wife Nancy of Ozark; stepdaughter Jayne W. Williams and husband Steve of Albuquerque, NM; three step granddaughters Stephanie, Alicia and Megan.
Richard has requested there be no funeral. He would like to say to his family and friends a simple THANKS.
