Richard Caleb Thompson, age 95, of Galena, Kansas, passed away Saturday April 16, 2022. He was born on October 16, 1926, in Hawk Point, Missouri. He graduated from Silex High School and then graduated from Central Bible College. Richard started as an Assemblies of God Minister, then later dealt in real estate investments. In between he worked and later talked about delivering milk, bread, and Little Debbie cakes, and working as McDonnell Douglas. He was united in marriage to Myrtle Ellen Lloyd, June 1, 1948, Stone Chapel at Central Assembly, Springfield, Missouri. His interests included fishing, going to auctions, and having lunch at Sirloin Stockade with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Myrtle, one son Richard Neil, his parents, and one brother. He is survived by his children Robert Thompson (Laura), Deborah Burton (Terry), Susan Daugherty (Mike), Stephen, Teresa Byers-Crowe (Jason); 13 grandchildren Chrissy, Caryn, Mike, Caira, Casey, Nathan, Rachel, Kim, Katie, Abby, Amanda, Alyson, Justin; 13 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Marian Dick (Lloyd).
The visitation is Thursday April 21, 2022, 6:00-8:00 pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. The service will be Friday April 22, 2022, 10:00 am, Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with the graveside following at Sulphur Lick Cemetery, Troy, Missouri.
