Richard D. Carlson “Swede”, 76, peacefully departed November 26, 2009 at home with his family by his side. Richard proudly served as a police chief, highway patrolman and a marine, (Semper Fidelis). He was also an excellent truck driver and retired from Roadway in 1995. He maintained his humor and dignity to the end. Survivors include: his beloved wife, Joyce (Blunt) Carlson; six children: Dick and Renee, Mike and Sherry Webb, Marty Webb, Julie and Kenny King, Jenny and Chris Harris; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Clark Carlson and his wife Barbara. A special thanks to our dear friend Dick Taylor for bringing our lives together. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2009 in the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood Rd, Springfield, Mo.
