Richard Britton, 79, of Ozark, MO passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012 in his home with family and friends by his side.
Richard served in the United States Navy for four years during the Korean Conflict. After serving his country he started his career as a Union Contractor until he retired in 1995. Richard was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ozark where he was a trustee for three years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Genevia Britton; a daughter Resenda Rue; a sister Pat Calder and a brother Bobby Britton.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Rosie, 3 daughters Rhonda Staiger and her husband Steve of Billings, MO; Rochelle Harter and her husband Gary of Owasso, OK and Roxanne Rapp and her husband Randy of Marionville, MO. 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Richard is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Connie Stokes and her husband Bill of Willard, MO.; Haskell Britton and his wife Dixie of Pleasant Hope, MO. and Gary Britton and his wife Jenny of Springfield, MO. He is also survived by several nephews who enjoyed spending time and having fun with and many other relatives and friends.
Richards family would like to express their deepest appreciation for the care Richard received from Oxford Hospice and Dr Doug Brockman.
Services for Richard will be at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at The First Baptist Church in Ozark, MO under the care of Greenlawn Funeral Home East with burial following in Eastlawn Cemetery in Springfield. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 17, 2012 in the funeral home.
