Richard Lee Reynolds, 60, was born July 14, 1953 in Springfield, MO, the eldest child of Larry and Irene Ford Reynolds. He died unexpectedly in his home, July 27, 2013, of a sudden heart attack.
Rick made his profession of faith in Christ at age 9 and observed the ordinance of baptism performed by the Reverend W.L. Murdaugh. He was united in membership with Boulevard Baptist Church, where he was actively involved for years and remained a member.
He was preceded in death by his niece, Lindsey Murphy, and fiance’, Wanda Bethurem. He is survived by his parents; two sons, Chris Reynolds and wife, Nicole of Springfield and Ryan Reynolds and friend, Amy McCann of Kansas City, KS; granddaughters, Skylar, Ella and Mallory; grandson, Devin; brother, David Reynolds and wife, Sandy of Springfield; sister, Susan Murphy and husband, Curtis of Springfield; two nephews, Zach and Dusty Reynolds; niece, Kristen Bilyeu; Justin Newton, son of Wanda and many more family members and friends.
Rick worked in transportation for 38 years and was the president and CEO of American Eagle Logistics, LLC. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and Shriner and enjoyed many rides on his Harley with friends. He was also a former professional trumpet player of the Glenn Miller Orchestra.
As a graduate of Hillcrest High School, class of 1971, he was involved in jazz band, choir and orchestra and was looking forward to the 60th birthday party of his Pepperdine Elementary class. He loved life, story telling and never met a stranger.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 from 10:00 AM until noon at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. A graveside service will immediately follow at noon at Greenlawn Memorial Garden.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Shriner’s Children’s Fun or his grandchildren’s college education fun through the direction of Greenlawn North.`
