Richard M. Hays was born on February 17, 1925 to Victor L. Hays and Bessie G. (Bowen) Hays in Queen City, Missouri, and went home to his Heavenly Father on June 18, 2013.
Richard graduated from Glenwood, Iowa High School in 1942 and entered the Army. He farmed in Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas and later on drove an 18-wheeler. He was married to Margaret Jackson in 1946 and to this union 5 children were born: Pete (Connie) of Goodland, KS; Sharon Cooper (Bernie) of Verona, WI; Carolyn Beguin (Dr. Ev) of Springfield, MO; Mike (deceased) and Jack of Goodland, KS. He is further survived by 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a sister, Helena Pein of CA. He was predeceased by his parents, son, Mike, and grandson, Nathan.
Visitation will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home East in Springfield, MO on June 22, 2013 at 10:00 am and funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial service will be at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdredge, Nebraska on June 24, 2013 at 11:00 am.
