Richard Patterson departed this life on December 23, 2012 to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born in Springfield, Missouri February 12 1932..
He is preceded in death by parents Jesse Allene (McDaniel) Patterson and Charles Ross Patterson, and two sisters Charlene Patterson, and Jennifer Heuson.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Norma, four sons
Randy Patterson and wife Charlotte, Strafford, Lt Col Jerry Kim Patterson and wife Christina, Yorktown VA, Steven Patterson and his wife Alta, Strafford, Mark Patterson, Strafford, a sister Mary Kathlene McIntosh, Springfield, brother Dwain Patterson and his wife Linda, Strafford, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Richard graduated from Strafford High School and entered apprenticeship as a design engineer. He retired from Fasco Industries after a successful career to a life on the farm. He had a strong love for his family, the land and his animals. His sense of humor, wisdom and his loving leadership of his family will be greatly missed. We look forward to being with him in heaven where he knew God had created a beautiful land.
Visitation for Richard will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012 at Greenlawn Funeral Home-East in Springfield, MO. Service will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield, MO following the service.
