Rick Medlin, age 95, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on April 14, 2026, at his home, with his wife by his side. Rick was born to Eddie Medlin and Edith G. Medlin on May 6, 1930 in Fort Smith, AR. He was raised in Fort Smith, AR and graduated from High School there. He was united in marriage to Jean Medlin on March 19, 1982 in Kansas City, Kansas. Rick and Jean shared 44 years of marriage years of marriage before Rick’s passing on April 14, 2026. Rick proudly served in the United States Army as a Motor Sergeant and was a Korean War veteran. Rick was a retired Insurance Broker, representing several different companies. First and foremost, Rick loved his Lord and put Him first in all that he did. Rick enjoyed watching Old Western Movies and Football. Rick and his wife Jean enjoyed traveling all over America , enjoying many miles together.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Medlin; mother, Edith G. Medlin his his son: Marc Medlin, and one brother John Myrick. Rick is survived by his wife, Jean Medlin, his daughter Lynn, his step-daughter: Melissa Ruby and her husband, Brian, and four grandchildren: Landon and Dylon Ruby, Miles Medlin, and Maraiah Exley
Graveside services with Military Rites will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2026 at Bass Chapel cemetery, near Strafford, MO. For those who are wishing to pay their respect to the family a viewing will be be held from 8:00 a.m. to Noon on Monday, April 20, 2026 at Greenlawn Funeral Home South
