Rickey (Rick) Gene Harrison, age 69, of Branson, Missouri, passed away on November 11, 2024. Rick was born to Eugene Harrison and Florene Harrison on December 11, 1954 in Springfield, MO. He was raised in Halltown, MO and graduated from Miller in 1973.Rick was united in marriage to Kathy Harrison in Halltown,MO. Rick and Kathy shared 39 years of marriage before Rick’s untimely passing on November 11, 2024.
They shared their lives with two 2 children. Michael E Harrison, Married to Kathy Harrison of Republic, MO and Patricia L Cooper,Married to Seth Cooper of Panama City, FL
He was employed as a General Manager with PayLess Cashways, Springfield,MO. Asst Manager with Office Depot, Springfield, MO and General Manager with Staples, Branson,MO. When not working, he had many interests and pastimes including collecting computers, finding left behind treasures like antiques and stuff. He enjoyed hunting and fishing if his wife Kathy was bored and wanted someone to fish with. If he wasn’t in the woods enjoying nature he was finding things to build or repair. Nothing, however, brought him more fulfillment than him spending time with his 3 grand daughters and his other best buddy Eli (man’s best friend). He was either teaching them things to do or create or reciting Bible verses or just hanging out with them. Rickey was often described by others as a humble God loving man and everyone that knew him knew he loved his family.

Rickey was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Harrison; mother, Florene Harrison. He is survived by his spouse Kathy Harrison, Son Michael and daughter Patricia, Grand daughters Kayla Harrison, Jillian Cooper, Hailey Cooper. Sister Connie Ferwalt,Married to Joe Ferwalt. Brother Brent Harrison, married to Larryn Harrison
Many Nephews, Neices, and cousins.
A service will be held November 22, 2024 at 2pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson, MO

Rickey reclaimed and used the lumber from my Great Great Grandfather's home (homesteaded before the Civil War) in Lawrenceburg to rebuild a cover over the Paris Springs spring that was once owned by the parents of my grandmother Zada Mae (Paris) Mason. I think he also used some of it to build a one bedroom home in Halltown next to Cline Clarks store. We had not communicated in a long time. I am 88 and live in Washington state. I still own the 80 acre farm near Lawrenceburg.

I will forever remember Rick as the calm, level headed, God fearing, hard working man who loved his family to the end. He was dedicated in all that he’s ever done and remarked to me often on how we all should be good stewards of what is given to us. He was definitely a good steward of what was given to him and worked diligently to take care of it, being his properties, his renters, his family, friends or the land he sat on. I enjoyed being around him because I always learned something new, whether it was learning how to weld, or getting on a mower for the first time. He knew how to give a good jab and he was great at taking them back. He was a great husband to my cousin and I will miss him dearly.

Rick, you are the best friend and neighbor anyone could ever have. When we were gone for an extended period of time, a storm came through and broke a top off one of our trees, landing across our driveway. Rick and Kathy didn't want it to look like nobody was home, so they came and cut and stacked the wood. That is the kind of people they are, loving and giving. Kathy, we are ALWAYS here for you. Love you both and Rick, we will see you in heaven one of these days.

Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Rick was a dear friend and fabulous guy to talk with. He will be missed by all of us who had the pleasure of knowing him. I know the Lord has his reasons for taking him but we will miss him dearly. Kathy was so lucky to have him and I hope she can take solace in knowing he is in heaven and watching over all of us. Prayers for Kathy and the family.

We are so sorry to hear about Rick. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Rick was a guy you could call if you needed help with something and he would drop whatever he was doing immediately and come to your aid. His sense of humor was delightful and the twinkle in his eyes a dead giveaway to knowing you were being messed with. Rick was one of the good ones. Good to his wife, his family, loved God and fun to be around. Saying he will be missed is an understatement.

My love and prayers. Rick was the best ever! From pulling your leg, to helping in times of need, many bbq afternoons, Bible discussions, business advice, etc. the most down to earth true friend you’d ever meet. He loved his family and friends deeply. May God comfort you all during these sad days. Much love & prayers to you all. Thank you Rick for everything & for blessing my life with your friendship.

Ricks kindness will be missed by so many. My prayers go out to all of the family for peace and comfort through this difficult time.
