Robbie Mae (Self) Pool was born to Jesse Max and Marjorie (Gregg) Self on August 4, 1932, in Slagle, MO. Robbie passed away at Parkview Health Care Facility on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at the age of 91.
Robbie was united in marriage to Garland Pool on March 20, 1948, and they were married for 68 years before the death of Garland. They were blessed with two daughters, Patty and Donna, and a son Mike.
Robbie was saved at Mitchell Camp Ground in a revival that Bro. Fletch Davis was holding in February 1949. She joined Enon Missionary Baptist Church. Later moving her membership to Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she was still a member a the time of her death.
Robbie was primarily a homemaker but did work at the garment factory for a time, and then was a receptionist for two different doctors. Much of her time was being the “preacher’s wife” while Garland pastored at numerous churches and held many revivals.
Robbie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Garland; a granddaughter Gwen Peterson; sons in-law: Gene Waldren and Ed Peterson; brothers: Don Self and Rodney Hawkins; two sisters in-law: Kathy Hawkins and Emilee Hawkins; two brothers in-law: Carl Rotramel and Charles Cross.
Robbie is survived by her daughters: Patty Waldren and Donna Peterson; her son Mike Pool and his wife Jody; eight grandchildren: Sheri Marschke, Michelle Waldren, Shawnee Waldren, Brad Waldren (Jennifer), Bryan Peterson, Darin Peterson(Lacey), Casey Pool(Linnzey), and Brandon Pool; 16 great grandchildren: Gracie Peterson and Garrett Peterson, Micah Peterson and Chyanne Peterson, Kayla Marschke and Kevin Marschke, Owen Waldren and Finley Waldren, Nathan Palmer and Jace Palmer, Peyton Waldren, Taelyn Waldren, Audrianna Waldren, Lainey Waldren, Logan Pool; one great great grandson Cooper Marschke; one brother Tom Hawkins; one sister Vicki Cross; brother in-law Bill Pool; as well as many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Robbie always had a smile and a hug for those she came in contact with. She treasured the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Robbie touched the lives of so many people – she will be missed by all that knew her.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Monday, October 2, 2023, at Pitts Chapel. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at the funeral home with Bro.’s DeWayne Burdette and Dennis Skinner officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hope cemetery. I have so many precious memories of your mom and serving our Lord. But the precious one was when my mom Dorothy Butler and Robbie and Ms Mayfield was all out in Park field and every night I go out to see momthise 3 was together listening to gospel music in Mom's room an talking about God . They was having church right there. Now they all are up in heaven praising God together.
