Robert E. Cotter, age 70, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on September 11, 2026, at his home surrounded by family. Robert was born to Bobby Cotter and Marilyn Dooley on April 12, 1956 in Springfield, Missouri. He was raised in Springfield and graduated from Central High School in 1974. Robert was married to Louie Cotter on June 18, 1988. Robert and Louie shared 38 years of marriage before Robert’s passing.

Robert was employed with Mercy Hospital for 37 years. When not working, he loved spending time with his wife, kids, grandkids, and friends. Robert will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, amazing Dad and crazy Grandpa. He loved many things such as Boy Scouts, Hockey, cheesy horror movies, classic rock music, traveling, attending concerts, riding his motorcycles, and driving his convertible Corvette. He brought a warm light and sense of humor to the world. He will be greatly missed by all. 

He is survived by his wife Louie Cotter; son Randy Evans, his wife Jerri Evans; daughter Stacey Lawyer, her husband Jeremy Lawyer; son Riley Cotter; granddaughter Leora Choate, her husband Tre Choate; granddaughter Abbey Lawyer; and granddaughter Laynie Evans. 

A visitation for Robert will be held on Thursday, September 17th, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Greenlawn Funeral Home South in Springfield, Missouri.
