Robert Leon Thomas, 51, of Springfield, left this life to meet our Lord, Savior and Creator on August 1, 2012. Robert was born to Shelia and Robert Thomas on September 16, 1960 in Springfield, Missouri. Robert graduated from Central High School, and went on to work at several local Chinese restaurants, including, Hong Kong Inn, Lotus, Jade East and Diamond Head to name a few, he learned his cooking skills from his parents, who both worked in the Chinese restaurant business for many years. Robert loved to spend time outdoors riding his bike and growing his Jalapeno Peppers, but his greatest love was spending time with his family. Robert will be remembered by his family as a practical joker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Gene and Shelia Ruth Thomas ; three brothers, Wesley Thomas, Earlin, Thomas, and Herbert Thomas; two sisters, his twin sister Robin Mae Thomas and Mary Jovona Thomas ,; and one nephew Bobby Joe Tiller. He is survived by two sisters, Gail Tiller and husband Tommy of Springfield and Trestia Bilyeu of Ozark; three brothers, Paul Thomas of Springfield, Finis Thomas of Springfield, and Norman Thomas of Springfield; one son, Zachary Thomas of Springfield, and a host of friends and family. Visitation will be Saturday, August 4, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home North; Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in care of Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
