Robert was preceded in death by his mother: Joan Lair Childs, his father: Lawrence Kenneth Childs, his sisters: Diane Routh, Harriett Lair, Ivy Lynn Akins, Sherry Elaine Bouge, and Mary Ann Mumsford. He is survived by his son, Brent Childs, and his brothers: Denton & Nereida Childs, and Kenton and Gwen Childs, and Alan and Joanna Childs, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Burial with Military Rites will follow, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family suggests Memorial Donations be made to YMCA Camp Wakonda Scholarship Fund at: 323 North Patton Avenue, Springfield, MO. 65806
