Robert “T-Bob” O’Brien, age 77, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 27, 2024. T-Bob, as he was commonly known, was born to Neal and Marcella O’Brien on February 18, 1947, in St. Joseph, Minnesota. He grew up in Little Falls, Minnesota, and had fond memories of spending time with his family and working at the Supper Club his family owned and operated.
Bob held many occupations over the years but would rely on his large body and frame to work labor-intensive jobs for extra money. Over the years Bob had worked and managed different bars, owned and operated a few thrift stores, and was an active part of the nightlife scene in Springfield. He always had a wild streak and even had to hide his first leather jacket from his mother when he was thirteen years old.
When not working, Bob enjoyed hanging out at the clubhouse with his brothers, riding Harleys, and watching the Minnesota Vikings blow it year after year. Bob will be remembered as a father, a friend, a brother, and a lover of animals. He had the ability to draw people in and make them laugh, as well as the skill of brutal honesty and often spoke exactly what was on his mind. Even through all of that, he could have a very kind heart and a loving soul. Bob was very protective of what was his, he loved his family and would protect them no matter what. His large stature matched his larger-than-life personality that shone through when singing karaoke to the one and only King of Rock ‘n Roll, Elvis Presley. T-Bob will be sorely missed from this earth, but his legacy will live on through his children. His soul is now at peace and will spend eternity in a better place.
Robert “T-Bob” O’Brien was preceded in death by his mother and father, Marcella and Neal; his cousin, Grace; and his brother, Steve “Hoggy” Huntley. He is survived by his children: Bobby, Amanda, Rocque, Sonny, Luke, and Molly.
A memorial visitation for Robert “T-Bob” O’Brien will be held on Friday May 3, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North located at 3506 N National Ave in Springfield, Missouri.
