Robert “Bob” Wallace Propst, age 82, of Springfield, MO, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Maranatha Village. He was born June 5, 1930, in Seattle, Washington to Horace and Bessie Propst. He retired from the U.S. Air Force with the rank of Lt. Colonial after 32 years of service. He was a decorated Commander Pilot who flew C-124’s in Vietnam. Prior to flight school, Bob attended Everett Junior College where he was a Junior College Football All-American. He then graduated from Central Washington State where he attended R.O.T.C. He later obtained his Masters of Arts Degree from Webster College. Bob enjoyed all sports, especially racquetball. He was a great father and Patriot. He was active in his Church and loved serving Jesus Christ, his Savior and Lord. The love of his life was his wife, Gloria. They first met each other in the eighth grade and have since been married for 58 years. Other survivors are a son, Bob Propst, a daughter, Gayle Propst and five grandchildren; Paul, Steven, Marc, Michael, Tanner, and a brother, Dutch Propst. Memorial services will be held at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO. at 11:00, Tuesday, June 12, 2012.
