Roderick (Rod) Dean Brazeal, of Clever, Mo, passed away peacefully to heaven on October 2, 2021 at the age of 79, at Cox Hospital-South in Springfield, MO. Rod was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Ernest William Brazeal and Virginia (Nietert) Brazeal.
Rod spent many years maintaining service station equipment, was an over-the-road truck driver, and later started employment with H&R Block maintaining and remodeling tax offices for 35 years before retiring in 2001. After retirement he enjoyed gardening and caring for his many cats, dogs, and other wildlife creatures on his small farm.
On July 5, 1963 Rod and Sharon Bagwell were united in marriage and to this union one daughter was born.
Rod enjoyed estate sales and bin sales, adding to his collection of over 240 clocks of all ages and designs. From street drag racing as a youth, he continued to be an avid racing fan, from drag racing to NASCAR, as his sport of choice. He also enjoyed hunting and 4 wheeling with his three grandchildren. Seventeen months ago he gained a new great granddaughter that had him wrapped around her little finger.
Rod was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother Bill, and two infant siblings Richard and Elsie.
Rod is survived in death by his wife, Sharon Brazeal and his daughter Aleshia Garrison (Scott). Also surviving are his three grandchildren Lachele Schulze (Robert), Quentin Garrison, and Zachary Garrison (Brytni), and one great granddaughter Emma Nicole Schulze. He is also survived by three sisters, Sharron Yoakum, Millie Dollins (Gary), and Terry Gardener (Don). Other survivors who honor his memory are his sister in law Kay Summerfield (Bill) and brother in law Eldon Bagwell (Betty) and many nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. He is also survived by his two fur buddies. An 18 year old white cat (Snowball or Momma kitty) and 6 year old Pomeranian (Princess) who are missing the loving walks and lap time that he so willing provided.
Funeral services will be held Friday October 8, 2021 at 3:00pm, with visitation prior at 2:00pm, at Greenlawn North Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
