Roland Armand Bessette, age 90, passed away peacefully at his home in Fair Grove, Missouri, on December 26, 2025.

Roland met his wife, Marge, in high school, beginning a lifelong love and partnership. Together they raised six daughters: Laura, Linda, Stephanie, Sheryl, Patrice, and Michelle.

Roland spent years discovering his true vocational calling. He proudly served nine years in the National Guard Reserve and worked in several fields, including pipefitting, pig farming, and owning the Coast to Coast Hardware store. Ultimately, he returned to his much-preferred career in pipefitting.

A man of deep faith, Roland was actively involved in his church, where he served as an elder, song leader, and faithful participant in life groups. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, woodturning, and, most of all, spending cherished time with his family. He will be remembered for his strong faith, servant’s heart, and genuine love for those around him.

Roland was preceded in death by his parents, Armand and Emelda Bessette, and his grandson, Travis McCurry. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marge (Abbott) Bessette; his six daughters Laura Lyra, Linda Bessette, Stephanie Wilson (John,) Sheryl McCurry (David,) Patrice Doyle (Keith,) and Michelle Argenta; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; his sister Helen Buckley, and brother Richard (Sherry) Bessette.

A visitation will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home–North in Springfield, Missouri, on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
