Ronald Carl Elliott (Ron) of Springfield, Missouri; a beloved husband, dad, grandpa and great grandpa (Pa), brother, uncle, and friend left this world on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, to enter into the presence of the One who saved him and gave him eternal life.
Ron was born in Houston, Missouri, to Alva and Esther Elliott on April 24, 1941. He married his high school sweetheart, Mary Emack of Cabool, Missouri, on June 17, 1960. They had three children. Ron worked from 1969 – 1992 as a route salesman for Anderson Parks and then from 1992 – 2004 as a dry room manager for AMCON in Springfield.
In 1979 Ron recognized his need to make real peace with a holy God. On his knees he called upon Jesus Christ and rose to his feet a new man as a child of God. He faithfully served Second Baptist Church of Springfield as a deacon for many years until his death.
He was known for his love for his wife and family, his laughter, his love for Southern Gospel music, his attraction to antique cars, his ability to make things shine and glisten. He was respected and loved by too many to count and name. He will be greatly missed. Great will be our heavenly reunion.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Mary Emack Elliott, daughters Rhonda Elliott Tindell and husband John, Tammy Elliott Richardson and husband Phillip, son Timothy Carl Elliott and wife Lori, his sister Kay Elliott McCann and her husband Dennis. He is also survived by grandchildren Rachel (Scott) Spilker, Krista (Jordan) Phenicie, Austin (Ana) Elliott, Autumn (Jack) Plummer, Matthew Tindell, Josiah (Jonie) Richardson, Ashlyn Elliott, Felicity (Joshua) Rife, Sarah Tindell, Alexandra Richardson, and Chloe Richardson. Ron also leaves behind many great grandchildren, nephews and nieces, in-laws, and cousins.
Services will be held Tuesday, 1/23/24, 1:00 pm at Second Baptist Church, Springfield, with Pastor John Birchett officiating. Visitation Monday, 1/22/24, 5:00-7:00 pm at the church.
