Ronald Gene King, age 75, of Springfield, MO, passed away Monday, May 14, 2012 at Mercy Hospital. He was born December 30, 1936, in Highlandville, MO. Ronald enjoyed fishing, camping, farming. His greatest love was spending time with his family, especially the fourth of July.He never met and strangerand loved cutting up with everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by father, Paulie Tennis; patrenal grandparents, Harwell Wilson and Lulla King; and maternal grandmother, Anna Carter. He is survived by four children, Ronnie Joe King and wife Angie of Lamar, Chris Lee King of Lamar, Angela Mitchell and husband Steven of Fordland, and Tammy Shumake and husband David of Lamar; four brothers, Charles Tennis and wife Wilma of Springfield, Larry Tennis and wife Mae of Ozark, Donnie Tennis and wife Bonnie of Springfield, and Rick Tennis of the state of Indiana; two sisters ,Verna Davis of Springfield, MO and Glenda Pruitt of Springfield, his mother,Lalla Oneita Tennis of Springfield; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; beloved uncle of numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO with Rev. Leland Burch officiating. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2012 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
