On Wednesday, March 25, 2026, Ronald “Ron” Hittenberger passed from this life into the next. Carolyn Hittenberger, his wife of 65 years, was with him when he peacefully passed, singing him into the arms of Jesus, into the loving presence of God.
Ron Hittenberger lived a rich and faithful life of loving God and loving people. He encouraged and inspired everyone who knew him. Ron was the dearly loved father of four children: Vince (who predeceased him), Jeff, Rhonda, and Christy. He was the cherished grandfather of ten and great-grandfather of ten.
Ron grew up in Detroit, Michigan, and Tucson, Arizona. Ron married Carolyn Bartholomew in 1960. He and Carolyn served in pastoral roles in Watertown, New York, and Lancaster, California. They were Assemblies of God missionaries from 1966 until 2014. They were appointed to Haiti for 23 of those years. They also served in the Bahamas, with the Caribbean School of Theology, and with Global University. Ron completed his Bachelor of Arts degree at Southern California Bible College (now Vanguard University) in 1957 and his Master of Arts degree at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in 1997.
A memorial service in Ron’s honor will be held at Praise Assembly in Springfield, Missouri, 3535 N Glenstone Ave. on Tuesday, April 7. Visitation will start at 2 p.m. and the service will begin at 3 p.m.
