Ronald Robert Parry, age 89, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on June 1, 2026, at the Missouri Veterans Home, Mount Vernon, Missouri. Ronald Robert Parry, age 89, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on June 1, 2026, at the Missouri Veterans Home, Mount Vernon, Missouri.
Ron was born to Jedson Leroy Parry and Sarah May Hodge Parry on August 23, 1936, in Youngstown, Ohio. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, California, in 1954. Ron joined the Air Force after High School and served until 1958, when he was honorably discharged. After serving in the military, Ron attended Long Beach City College, where he achieved an Associate Arts Degree.
Ron enjoyed his long career in Automotive Aftermarket Sales, from which he retired in 1999. He was also skilled as a Square Dance Caller, which brought joy and fun to many dancers in clubs and communities throughout Missouri and in Springfield. Many dancers called him “Country Ron Parry.”
Ronald was united in marriage to Karen Parry on January 29, 1981, in Springfield, Missouri, at University Heights Baptist Church. Ron is survived by his wife, Karen Ray (Smith) Parry, his son, Scott Duran Parry, his daughter Dana Lynne Holm (Rick), son Michael Daylend Parry (Pam), his brother’s wife, Doris, his former daughter-in-law Marie, and cousin Gail.
Ron loved all his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren!
His survivors also include grandchildren: Zachary Parry (Candice), Whitney Stock (Ethan), Dustin Parry (Tamara), Caleb Parry (Shellie), Lindsey Holm, Emily Swope (Charles), Rachel Williams, Cody Parry (Hannah), and Mikayla Yarbrough.
Great Grandchildren include; William, James, Christian, Cage, Easton, Riley, Brooklyn, Daylend, Harley, Marleigh, Baylee, Bentley, Caysen, Kennedy, and one great-great granddaughter, Anelei.
Ron is preceded in death by his father, Jedson, mother Sarah, stepfather Lloyd Bolling, his brothers Richard and Judson, his sisters Jacqueline and Marcia, his daughter Jennifer Ayn Tipton Yarbrough, and great grandbabies Zachary Jr and Jordyn.
Ron leaves behind many more dear family members and close friends, whom he loved and enjoyed throughout his life. His family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation for the kindness and tender care provided for him at the Mount Vernon Veterans Home.
A Committal service, with military honors, and burial at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri, is being planned and date and time will be announced here.
