Rosalea Bain Myers was born to Fred Monroe and Hattie Virginia (Shepherd) on February 25, 1919, in Blacksburg, Virginia. Rosalea passed away December 1, 2010 after 18 months of special care at Springfield Rehabilitation.
Rosalea was united in marriage to Eddie Hulse Myers on December 5, 1945 upon his returning from World War II, and preceded her in death in 2006. This marriage was blessed with one child, a son, Ronald Edward Myers who passed away in 1981. He gave them great joy and pride. Rosalea, Eddie and Ronnie all enjoyed travel, dancing, backgammon, boating at their summer home in Kimberling City and many long time and dear friends. Rosalea was a long time member of First and Calvary Presbyterian Church and was very involved in Shrine activities.
Rosalea was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, and by her 11 siblings: Dolly, Virginia, Dewey, Yoncie, Willa, Effie, Hazel, Mark, Erma, Maudie and James.
Rosalea is survived by her loving niece Noris Wilson, nephew P.L. “Bob” Bartley (Carole) all of Winchester, Virginia and many great nieces and nephews. Rosalea will be dearly missed by special friends Joni and Ken Seminary, Larry Burke, Marsha and Dan Fridley, Sachiko Frost and Louise Cox.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, December 6, 2010 at 10:00 am at Greenlawn South Funeral Home with burial to follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 9:00 am at the funeral home.
