Today, we celebrate Rosario Rivera Blanco, a resident of Springfield, Missouri, who at the age of 80 years old, has left this human life and body to go to a much better place!
Rosie peacefully and gloriously went to meet her Lord and Savior in heaven on September 12, 2020 with her husband by her side in the loving home of her daughter.
Rosie was a beautiful woman, as well as a beautiful soul. God and Church were always first priority in her life and her next priority was her family.
She was a member of Oak Grove Assembly of God Church in Springfield, Missouri for over 15 years. Prior to that she was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Berwick, Louisiana for over 20 years.
Rosie’s kids say that Jesus will be very pleased to welcome her into heaven because she was pure in heart.
Rosie was born in Galveston, Texas and was raised in Houston, Texas where she attended school.
Rosie is preceded in death by her parents Ruby Lupita Gomez and Herman Rivera. She is also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Herman Rivera, Jr. and Joe Rivera and by her only 2 sisters, Nona Rivera Maltman and Eleanor Rivera Taylor.
Her remaining siblings are, Paul Rivera, (Chico) Bernard Rivera, and Jerry Rivera.
At age 19 Rosie’s family moved to Louisiana, where she met a young handsome man in the army by the name of, Gerald Joseph Blanco. She called him “Jerry”.
Rosie was 21 when she married Jerry at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City, Louisiana. They recently celebrated 60 happy years of marriage with their 3 kids.
They have always loved each other very dearly and have always been faithful to each other, They served God and attended church faithfully together with their family.
Rosie and Jerry had 4 children together.
They were very pleased that their children and grand-children married other Christians that had faith in God.
Their first born child moved to heaven early at age 38, Catherine Ann Blanco Percle.
She was married 20 years to her husband Sandy Joseph Percle, and they have 2 children, Nicholas Percle and Courtney Percle Sullivan.
Rosie and Jerry’s second child was Pernell James Blanco, who has been married 35 years to Janine Souza Blanco, and they have 3 daughters, Jessica Blanco Adams Natalie Blanco Adams and Samantha Blanco Jett. Their third child is Melissa Marie Blanco Morein, who has been married for 37 years to Pastor Ronald Morein, and they had 2 daughters, Victoria Morein McBain and Carissa Morein Dodson. Their last child and the baby of their family is Stephanie Ann Blanco Baker, who has been married for 24 years to Pastor Danny Baker, and they have 2 adult children, Olivia Danielle Baker, Bryce Joseph Baker.
Rosie was also blessed to enjoy a host of Great grand-children, Helana Sullivan, Hailee Sullivan, Henley Sullivan, Audrey Adams, Anna Marie Jett, Hudson McBain and soon to arrive Ellie Catherine McBain.
Rosie will be forever remembered by her family and by all who knew her.
Services for Rosie will be Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Oak Grove Assembly of God Church 1320 S. Oak Grove Ave. Springfield, MO 65804 under the care of Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:pm at the church prior to the service.
