Roy Gene Brechbuhler, age 76 of Battlefield, MO, passed away Friday, July 28, 2023, at James River Nursing & Rehabilitation in Springfield, MO. He was born May 1, 1947, in Hugoton, KS, to Roy Calvin Brechbuhler and Jean Brechbuhler. He graduated from Aurora High School in 1965. After High School he was drafted into the Army and was stationed in Korea with the 13th Engineer Division as a Bridge Specialists. He was awarded a National Defense Service Metal as a sharpshooter with an M-14.
Roy worked for the United States Postal Service for over 27 years as a Mail Carrier and retired in 2009. Being a man who enjoyed staying busy and helping others, he later started working for Luggage Works of Aurora doing various jobs and worked there for over 6 years. Roy had a great passion for racing and raced his own stock cars for many years. He was an outdoor enthusiast, enjoying deer hunting, turkey hunting, and fishing. He was a dedicated member of The National Wild Turkey Federation for many years and attended church regularly at James River Assembly with his family whenever possible.
Roy is survived by his wife Denise Gaye Brechbuhler of Battlefield, MO; his two sons, Roy Daniel Brechbuhler & Scott Dean Brechbuhler as well as his 4 grandchildren Rilan, Wyatt, Gabriel, and Kimber.
