Roy Owen Handy, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on June 8, 1955, in Bellingham, Washington, Roy’s life journey led him to Fair Grove, Missouri, where he cherished his family and community.
Roy was a man of many qualities, often described as goofy in the best of ways-especially when he was around his daughters, Liz and Ruth. He had a knack for bringing laughter to the simplest moments, leaving behind a legacy of joy and love. As a devoted husband to Kimberly for 27 wonderful years, Roy was the epitome of dedication.
For over 40 years, Roy worked tirelessly as an OTR truck driver. Committed to his profession, he often spent six days a week on the road, ensuring he provided for his family-and he did so with a generosity that knew no bounds. Even when resources were scarce, Roy always found a way to give, whether it was sharing a meal or offering his time to help those in need. His service extended to his church, where he made a meaningful impact by driving a bus each Sunday morning to transport people to services.
Roy is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Handy, and his daughters, Liz and Ruth Handy. He is also remembered fondly by his brothers, Lee, Lyle, Ross, and Mike Handy, and his sisters-in-law, Lois, Brenda, Becky, and Jo Handy. Roy leaves behind a tapestry of memories that will be cherished forever.
As we remember Roy Owen Handy-a man of humor and heart, hard work and generosity-let us gather to honor his spirit and celebrate the impact he had on all of our lives. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
