Royce was born December 7, 1943 and raised in new Orleans, LA, and educated at Tulane University. He was a veteran of the United States Navy who served in the Viet Nam War as an A6 bombardier/navigator.
Son of the late Royce R. Malter Sr., husband to Nancy B. Malter; the late Carolyn M. Malter, the late Glenda A. Malter, father of Helen M. Marotta (James), Audrey M. Hamby and (Mark), Meredith M. Reed (John), step-father of Graig A. Sneed (JoAnn), Lee Ann Durbin and fiancé Larry Tuck, Michelle P. Givler (Brad), and grandfather of 27 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Royce was a retired laboratory manager for the Coors Brewing Company in Memphis, Tennessee.
Royce was a member of Grace Chapel Church in Springfield, Missouri. Rev. Jay Bean will officiate at a private service and internment at Wolfe Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Relay for Life in Republic, Missouri, in care of Lee Ann Durbin.
