Ruby Alice (Volner) Alexander, age 93, was born on August 1, 1919 to Orbis and Isabell Volner. She passed away in Maranatha Village on July 2, 2013.
She was united in marriage to Louis Wade Alexander on December 12, 1936 and to this union three daughters were born. She was an active member of Walnut Street Christian Church and was very active at the Northview Senior Center where she served on the Advisory Board and also was active in the Southwest Missouri on Aging. Ruby loved to travel, fish and play cards with her many friends at the center.
She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Shelby Jean, along with her parents, five brothers, and three sisters.
She is survived by daughters, Louise and Tommy Davis of Dixon, Missouri, and Bonnie and Johnie Chandler of Springfield, Mo.; three grandsons: Tommy Wade Davis, John Stephen Chandler, and Keith and wife Jaime Chandler, all of Springfield; two granddaughters: Anita and Tim Light, and Teresa Lisenbe, all of Dixon; seven great-grandsons: Brian and Brandon Light, Dylan and Daniel Lisenbe of Dixon, Raymond Davis, and Isaac Chandler of Springfield; two great-granddaughters: Morgan Davis of Rolla, and Ireland Chandler of Springfield.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 8, 2013 in Dixon, Mo. City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 7, 2013 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
