Russell Ray Whiteley was born September 23, 1944, to Carl and Margaret (Hammon) Whitely of Pleasant Hope, Missouri. He died June 16, 2013, at Mercy Hospital, Springfield.
He is preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters. Russell is survived by his wife, Barbara Whiteley of Billings; a daughter, Angie Kittle, of Marionville, and step-daughter, Lorna White of Mount Vernon; three grand-daughters and three grandsons.
Russell worked for 25 years at Wells Tire Supply in Springfield, MO, after which he retired to the farm. He enjoyed gardening, playing his guitar, and especially family time.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 20, 2013, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2013, in the funeral home.
