Ruth worked for Turners Dept. Store on the square in Springfield doing alterations and making drapes. Her sewing did not end at work. She made many clothes for her daughters and nieces-she was an avid quilter. Making quilts gave her joy like none other. She made many quilts for her children, grandchildren, family and friends. There were no children in this family who have not been wrapped in a “Granny Ruth” quilt.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
The family also wishes to thank the nurses and employees at Woodlawn Manor B-wing–they treated her with great care and kindness.
