Ruth Frances Geister, 89, of Springfield, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in Mercy Villa in Springfield.
She was born June 5, 1921 in Springfield, the youngest child of Thomas W. and Kate Whitworth Campbell’s six children.
On February 18, 1943 she married William A. Geister.
She was a long time member of St. John’s Episcopal Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, William F. Geister; and brothers and sisters, Mayme Lewis, Tom Campbell, Louise Gray, Homer Campbell, and Josephine Reddick.
She is survived by nieces, Katherine Stratman, of Jefferson City, Paula Pollard, of Springfield, Mo., Linda Porter, of Rogersville, Mo.; a nephew, Dr. Max Reddick, of Houston, Texas; as well as many great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 11 a.m., in Greenlawn Funeral Home North with Chaplain Ann Payette officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. No visitation is planned.
The family would like to thank the staff at Mercy Villa for the very special care and compassion they gave Aunt Ruth during her final years.
