Ruth Irene Price, age 91, passed of natural causes at her home in Nixa, Missouri, on May 25, 2026. She was born September 2, 1934 in Wheaton, Missouri. Ruth was the youngest child of seven children born to Ewing and Nota Davidson. Ruth married Wesley Junior Price on February 4, 1951, at her parents’ home in Springfield, Missouri. Ruth was a member of Highlandville First Baptist Church, in Highlandville, Missouri.
In their earlier years, Ruth and Wesley owned and operated a small café in Derby, Kansas, and owned Selmore Trading Post Antiques for many years in Ozark, Missouri. In her later years, Ruth retired from Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Ruth was a wonderful wife and mother and was very involved in her daughters’ lives, including teaching Sunbeams in their early church years, helping with Girl Scouts, and volunteering at their schools. Ruth loved to have family and friends visit and was always quick to offer food and to feed you anytime you were at their house. Ruth and Wes and their daughters loved the lake and spent many summers at Lake Pomme de Terre camping and water skiing. Ruth lived the final four years of her life with her youngest daughter, Ruby Sims.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Wesley Junior Price; her parents, Ewing and Nota Davidson; one sister, Elizabeth DavidsonTurner; five brothers, Russell Davidson, Ray Davidson, Walter Davidson, Willard Davidson, and David Davidson; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.
Ruth is survived by her children, Sandra Price Moffet and husband Don, Connie Price Baker and husband Jim, Debra Price Ferrell and husband Boone, and Ruby Price Sims; 20 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 21 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation and funeral will be held at Greenlawn North Funeral Home in Springfield, Missouri on Saturday, May 30, 2026. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral directly following at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Burial will be following the service at Clear Creek Cemetery.
