Ruth Mae Hamlin, 100 years old, passed away December 30, 2011 at Ozark Riverview Manor after a short illness.
She was born November 23, 1911 in Clayton, New Mexico to William Charlton and Emma Burris Shuler. The family later moved to a farm near Bolivar, MO.
On December 30, 1934 she married Olen Worthan Hamlin and lived in the Fair Play, MO area. They were married for 73 years.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Roy, Kenneth and Charles; and sister Lois.
Ruth is survived by sons, Jerry and wife, Dorothy, of Springfield, MO, Kent and wife, Betsy, of Richmond, VA; seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, June Vincent of Sedalia, MO, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Ruth was an active member of the Fair Play Methodist Church for many years.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 3, at Greenlawn East Funeral Home with visitation at 1 pm and funeral services will follow at 1:30 pm with Rev. John Shuler officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Aldrich, MO.
The family would like to thank the staff of Ozark Riverview Manor for many years of loving care and Seasons Hospice for comforting care during her last days.
