Ruth Marie Ohrenberg was born September 8, 1941 in Alma, MO and grew up on a farm in Concordia. They lived in a converted garage and Ruth worked at a Jewelry Store and the Concordian Newspaper while Wes attended college. They moved to Springfield, Missouri in 1976 where they bought their forever home. Ruth was very active in her church. She taught Sunday School, Mid-week school, and Vacation Bible School. It was very important that her family went to church and Sunday School every week. She was an excellent homemaker, and a wonderful hostess. She enjoyed searching for and trying new recipes. Ruth showed her love for her family by baking wonderful cakes and cookies! She loved planting flowers, feeding the birds, and listening to country music on KTTS. Her best friend was our dad, and they were deeply in love. On October 23, 2023, after a long illness she is finally at rest with her hubby. We are grateful that she is at peace. We believe that she and dad are playing a great game of golf on the beautiful course in Heaven. She is preceded in death by her husband Wesley Leland Ohrenberg, and a granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Marshall. She is survived by her daughter and son in law, David and Chrislyn Rider, her son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Shannon Ohrenberg; and her two granddaughters, Genna Elise and Ivy Grace Ohrenberg.
A celebration of Ruth’s life will be at 11 am, Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with a luncheon to immediately follow the service. Graveside service will be at 1:30pm, Thursday at Clear Creek Cemetery.
