For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.
John 3:16-17

Sally Sharon Pell, wife, mother, grandmother, and most importantly, a believer of Jesus Christ, died peacefully at Mercy Hospital on January 22, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 81. Sally was born to Ethan Allen Stevens and Hiley Margaret (Sutton) Stevens on August 20t,1943, in Kansas City, Missouri. Sally graduated from Westminster High School in Westminster, California. She was married to the love of her life Sidney Pell on February 8, 1962, in Westminster, California and they have been holding hands until the day she passed.
Sally is survived by her spouse, Sidney Pell; children: Sharon and Sidney Shew, Kelly Pell, Brian and Kim Pell; grandchildren: Scott Shew, Kristin and Matthew Eddings, Kayla and Brandon Ferguson, Klaire and Levi Graham; great-grandchildren: Logan Eddings, Kori Eddings, Laurel Eddings, Lexie Caudill, Kynleigh Ferguson, Avery Wright, and Lincoln Eddings. Sally is also survived by a host of extended family and friends. Sally was preceded by her death by her parents, Ethan and Hiley Stevens; siblings: Richard Stevens, Paul Stevens, Wesley Stevens, Sandra Phelps and Joy Smith; son, Allen Pell; and great-grandson, Ethan Ferguson; along with many more loved ones.
For 24 years, Sally attended Bethel Baptist Church in Garden Grove, California, where she surrendered her life to Jesus Christ in 1963. Sally was an active member at Park Crest Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri, until the day she passed. Sally spent her life holding many little ones in the church nursery or teaching preschoolers about Jesus. She was always caring for others by cooking them a meal or by providing a safe and loving environment for them. If you ever left her house hungry, it was your own fault. Her grandchildren thought she was the funniest person to be around and everyone around her felt loved. Sally was a true example of a Proverbs 31 woman and her death will affect many of those who were loved by her.
A graveside service for Sally will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 11:00 am, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Springfield. Her graveside service will be officiated by Pastor Phillip Housley of Park Crest Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Sally’s memory to Blake Housley for the #ShowNashville initiative.
Psalm 116:1-9:
“I love the Lord because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy. Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live. The snares of death encompassed me; the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me; I suffered distress and anguish. Then I called on the name of the Lord: “O Lord, I pray, deliver my soul!” Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; our God is merciful. The Lord preserves the simple; when I was brought low, he saved me. Return, O my soul, to your rest; for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you. For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling; I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.”
