Sammy Joe Speedone, age 63, of Bolivar, MO, passed away Monday, January 6, 2014, at Mercy Hospital Springfield, MO. He was born September 15, 1950, in Pittsburg, KS, to Joseph and Betty (Barkwell) Speedone. He was a member of the Southern Hills Baptist Church Bolivar, MO. He is a U.S. Navy Vietnam War era veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Mary Lu Speedone of Bolivar, MO; five daughters: Miriam Goliger and husband Noah of Baltimore, MD, Gilah Speedone of Baltimore, MD, Adina Speedone of Baltimore, MD, Amalia Kotlicky and husband Issac of Baltimore, MD, and Pinky Ovadia and husband Yam of Baltimore, MD; one son Daniel Speedone of Baltimore, MD; one step-son Stewart Davis and wife Alisha of Springfield, MO; eight grandchidren: Liora, Odeliah, Orren, Ashira, Yardena, Asher, Alana, Hannah, and one on the way; two brothers: Rick Speedone of LaCygne, KS, and John Speedone and wife Rhonda of Independence, MO; one sister Linda O’Sullivan and husband John of Garden City, KS; four nieces two nephews, and three great nephews; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Southern Hills Baptist Church Bolivar, MO, with Rev. Rayden Hollis officiating. Burial will be held at Missouri Veterans Cemetery Springfield, MO at a later date. Online condolences may be made at: www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com.
