Sandra Lynne (Beersman) Jackson, 71, of Bolivar, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2025, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Sandra, affectionately known as Sandy, was born in Springfield, Missouri, on June 30, 1954, to Billy and Wanda Beersman.
Sandy was named Valedictorian for the graduating class of 1972 at Marion C. Early Schools. She held many accomplishments both academic and extra-curricular including softball, band, choir, and was an active member of the Eudora 4-H Chapter. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Education from Southwest Baptist University and later her Master of Education from William Woods University. Sandy was a passionate educator, inspiring the minds of young learners in the Missouri public school system until she retired from Weaubleau R-III schools after 26 years of service in 2019.
When Sandy’s family moved to Morrisville in 1964, they joined Lighthouse of Hope Church (formerly Morrisville United Methodist), where she actively attended and served until her passing. She was Chairman of the Board for the church for over 20 years, helped lead music, directed Bible School, volunteered with the youth group, taught Sunday School, and organized the annual UMW regional meeting. Her servant heart was not only witnessed within her church, but also in the communities she lived and taught.
A lifelong lover of literature, you could often find her with a book in hand and a child in her lap. She also enjoyed mathematics, which fueled her love of card and board games. Large family gatherings were full of laughter and friendly competition inspired by the game tournaments she orchestrated.
Sandy adored her family, and you would likely find her in the stands cheering for them on any given night of the week and many weekends. She was an amazing mother and the best Nana. Her home has been the gathering place for family dinners, movie nights, and backyard swim parties. Any spare moment she had she wanted to spend with her family – whether it be their annual camping trip or a weeknight of enjoying burgers while watching the latest episode of Survivor.
Sandy’s sweet spirit is continued by her loving husband of 52 years, Garry Jackson. Her memory is carried by her three children Mark (Tara) Jackson of Blue Springs, Jenny (Robert) Ronshausen of St. Louis, Holly (Ryan) Campbell of Bolivar, as well as her seven grandchildren Camden, Katelyn, Jaylee, Jaxon, Kenzie, Josie, and Judah. She is also remembered by her brother Wesley (Sheri) Beersman and sister-in-law Connie Capone as well as her nephews Vincent (Christine) Capone and Christopher Cable, and nieces Laquita Johnson, Lauren (Shawn) Cook and Danielle Beersman.
She will be dearly missed by many more family members, friends, former students, and the countless lives she touched in her time here with us.
Sandy is preceded in death by both of her parents, Billy and Wanda Beersman.
She will be remembered for her joyful song, selfless servitude, always kind heart, and her powerful faith.
