Sandra “Sandy” Jean Davis, age 69, of Republic Missouri, left this world and ran into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 2:55 a.m., surrounded by her family at Mercy Hospital in Springfield Missouri

Sandy was born on May 19, 1957, at Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, Illinois, to Verneda and Frank Van Horn. She graduated from Rogersville High School in 1975. She then attended College of the Ozarks in Hollister, Missouri, where she earned her degree in Business and Child Psychology, graduating with the Class of 1979.

Sandy married the love of her life, Jerry Davis, on May 10,1980. They started a family and settled In Republic, Missouri, where they built a beautiful life together. Sandy gave her life to Christ in her early teens, and she and Jerry found a home with Hope Church.

Sandy worked for Mid-Am for many years before going to work at the Bass Pro Shops corporate office. In 2004, Sandy was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, after this diagnoses Sandy found a new passion with her family and enjoyed putting on the MS Bike Rides each year from Springfield to Joplin, Missouri.

Though Sandy struggled as MS tried to take over her body, it never stopped her from laughing, loving, and enjoying life to the fullest. Sandy enjoyed fishing from a young age and loved to dance. She could always be found with a book or a pen in her hand, reading or writing in her journals – in between sips of sweet tea, of course. She loved playing her Facebook games, watching the STL Cardinals on TV, and of course, we can’t forget her soap operas and the Hallmark Channel.

She enjoyed going on drives around town with Jerry, simply taking off to Branson with no agenda or sneaking off to enjoy a few penny slots at the casino. She loved eating at Rosie Jo’s Café in Ozark and, most of all, spending time with her family and friends.

Sandy leaves behind her loving husband of 46 years Jerry Davis, of Republic, Missouri, her three sons and their wives, Jeremiah and Shellie Davis of Niangua, Missouri, Jason and Crystal Davis of Republic, Missouri; and Justin and Meranda Davis of Hominy, Oklahoma.

She is also survived by her mother, Verneda Lamb of Rogersville, Missouri; her brother, John Kane and his wife Pam, of Strafford, Missouri; her nephew, Tristan Kane and his wife, Kristen of Strafford, Missouri; her stepbrother, Travis Lamb; and his stepsisters, Joyce Peck, Terri Moore, and Tammy Knapp.

Most importantly, she leaves behind her grandchildren, who were her world: Hannah, Samantha, Hailey, Joshua, Isaac, and Harper Davis. She also leaves behind many additional family members and friends whom she loved dearly.

Sandy’s life was one filled with love, laughter, family, friendship, and faith. Though her family and friends will miss her more than words can express, they find comfort in knowing that her earthly struggles are over. She is now free from pain, surrounded by the love of Jesus and dancing again.

Visitation will be held at Hope Church, 2121 S. Blackman Road, Springfield, Missouri 65809, on Tuesday. September 15, 2026, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., with the funeral service immediately following at 3:00 p.m.  Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.  A Celebration of Life will follow the burial at Hope Church.
