Sharon Boyd Grunberg age 81 of Willard, MO, passed away Monday, December 14, 2020, in her home. She was born November 19, 1939, in Kansas City, KS, to Robert Arthur and Vivian (Asher) Boyd. She was married for time and all eternity to Walter John “C” Grunberg September 2, 1967, in the Oakland, CA Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Sharon exemplified patience and long suffering, and was a true disciple of Christ. When Sharon’s children were young, the phrase “stay-at-home-mom” didn’t exist. It was usual for women to stay home with the children while their husbands worked. But even by the standards of the era, Sharon was an exceptional wife and mother. She cared deeply for her family and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She was always the first to offer help. She regularly brought meals, and never forgot the chocolate sheet cake to the home of sick neighbors. And she always ensured that every person, stranger, or friend who crossed her path felt the true love of Christ. Sharon’s greatest love was her family. And all her children were proud to call her mom.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and a brother Clifford Boyd.
Sharon is survived by her husband Walter; six children: Lory Duncan of Altavista, VA, Ronald Murphy (Jean) of Vancouver, WA, Richard Grunberg (Darlene) of Boise, ID, Gretchen Mathews (Rick) of Ash Grove, MO, Christianne Christensen (Dave) of Flagstaff, AZ, Jennifer Parkinson (Brandon) of Battlefield, MO; 20 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild on the way; three sisters: Roberta Beagley (David) of Pleasant Grove, UT, Jeanne Welch of St. George, UT, and Susie Brenner of St. Anthony, ID; one brother Allen Boyd of St. George, UT; as well as many other relatives and friends.
