Sharon Jefferis Pitts passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 16, 2021.  Sharon had heart issues most of her life and she just slipped away while napping.  Sharon was born March 9, 1947 to William Archie and Hattie Mae Atkinson Jefferis.

Sharon married her husband of 46 years, Delmar Pitts, on August 9, 1974.  They loved to travel around Missouri visiting family and friends.  Everyone seemed to know Sharon wherever they went.  Sharon was an exceptional cook.  She loved having people to her house for dinner parties.  She had a caring and giving heart.  Every child she ever met was instantly loved.  When Sharon became a great aunt to Emma, she was absolutely blessed.

Sharon graduated from Fair Grove High School.  She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone in 1992.   She then worked for the City of Springfield until retiring a second time in 2012.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by her husband Delmar A. Pitts, her sisters Shirley Essary and husband Dan, Sandy Ruzicka and husband Bill, and Sona Sanders and husband Randy.  She also has five nieces and nephews—Kimberly Essary, Daniel Essary, Erin Essary McNicoll, Sara Ruzicka, and Will Ruzicka.  Also, one great niece Emma Essary.

Visitation is Thursday, January 21 from 6pm to 8pm at Greenlawn North.  Funeral service is Friday, January 22 at 10am at Greenlawn North.
