Shaun was an amazing person! We got to know him professionally and then as our customer at Port of Kimberling. He helped us in many of our business ventures and for his help over the years we are forever grateful. Such a family man, we have watched him enjoy boating and his family over the years as he and Kim while we watched their children grow up and get married and had those precious grandbabies. You are missed tremendously. Prayers for Kim and his entire family at this time.
Matt and Stephanie Murphy left a message on April 5, 2024:
Shaun recruited and hired Stephanie as a young banker. He saw her potential, drive, and motivation, and opened a huge door for her, for what was to become a great career stint at Guaranty Bank. We won’t forget his down to earth personality, kindness, and constant fire and strive to make himself, his people, and his organization the very best.

So sorry to hear of Shaun's passing. I was the EVP of a company in Omaha, NE when I first met Shaun. He arranged a loan for our development of the Manor at Elfindale. I moved to Springfield in 2001 to join the Evangel University business faculty and would visit with Shaun at various SBJ and Chamber events. While he rose to significant leadership roles, he never changed from being the kind, respectful, humble, and professional man that I first met. I cherished our friendship.

Kim and family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Our family has so many memories of Shaun sharing his talents as coach and banker. I have an image in my heart of Tom shaking hands with and hugging Shaun to welcome him to Heaven. If you ever want to talk, Kim, I am available. May God give you comfort during this time.

I had the opportunity to work with Shaun very early in my career while in public accounting doing work with him at Guaranty Bank. Even though I was clearly fresh out of school, Shaun would take the time to sit down and visit with me on a weekly basis to get an update on the project and just to share some of his experience and advice. This particular engagement went on for the better part of 2 years and observing his leadership and having those conversation had a significant impact on my career and the type of leader I strive to be. For the next 15 years after that, I would run into Shaun all over Springfield and he would always make a point to say hello, check in on my career and reminisce about the work we did together. He's always been a leader and man I admire and my sincere condolences go to his family. He will be missed!

I had the opportunity to meet Shaun while serving on the Missouri Bankers Association Board of Directors. During my time on the Board, Shaun served as Chairman and I will never forget his gentle, attentive, sincere leadership. I wish I could have gotten to know Shaun more than just serving on the Board and in passing. I could always tell he was a great man who I am sure did amazing things for his family, his bank, and in the communities in which they serve. My thoughts and prayers go out to Kimberly and the entire Burke Family.

I first met Shaun when we served on a local not-for-profit board together and then had the privilege of working alongside him for 9 years at Guaranty Bank. I will be forever grateful for his friendship and support. My greatest memory of Shaun is that he was a dedicated family man and put his love for his family above all else. His eyes would truly light up when he spoke of his children. He was so proud of Kylea and Dalton. My deepest condolences to Kim, Kylea and Dalton and to all of Shaun's extended family. May he rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of working with Shaun back in the 80's at Boatmen's Bank and as many banking careers do, we crossed paths again as I got to work for him at Guaranty Bank from 2006-2016. I got to watch him grow as a leader and to make leaders of others around him. He was always supportive of his team and he enjoyed watching them expand their skills and their abilities. I especially enjoyed bank outings with him to the boat, to Cardinals games with co-workers and customers and chances to go hunting with Shaun and Dalton. He'll be missed and his memory treasured. Prayers to Kim and the family, Mike Mattson
