Shirley Ann Ahart a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many, departed this life at the Colonial Springs Healthcare Center, in Buffalo, Missouri, September 9, 2025, at the age of 89. She had been a resident there under the care of CMH Hospice since February. Thanks to the staff of both for the care and treatment provided.
Shirley was a member of Campbell Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Bolivar, where she was saved. Shirley owned and operated a beauty salon for several years. She loved to cook and bake for all the family gatherings and to make pies for many social events. She also enjoyed growing her many houseplants. Shirley loved to crochet. She always had to make a baby blanket for each grandchild.
Shirley Ann Ahart was born January 17, 1936, in Aldrich, Missouri, to Connaway and Marie Miller. Shirley was united in marriage on March 18, 1953, to Cecil Duaine Ahart in Harrison, Arkansas, and to this union five children were born.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Ahart; her parents, Con Miller and Marie Davis; brothers, Jack Miller, Charles Pendergraph, James Earls; sisters, Bette Steele, Ellen Sue Van Hooser; and a great-grandson, Caleb Uhlmann.
She is survived by her five children and their families: son, Tony Ahart and wife, Carolyn of Springfield, son, Rocky Ahart and wife, Ruth of Republic, daughter, Anita Hance of Midwest City, Oklahoma, daughter, Sandra Johnson and husband, David of Buffalo, son Mac Ahart and wife, Judy of Holts Summit; sister, Janice Garton; half-siblings, Richard McKinney, Linda Cavin, June Losh, and Dean McKinney; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and many friends who will sadly miss her.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Pitts Chapel of Greenlawn Funeral Homes, 316 E. Broadway, in Bolivar. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 15, 2025, in the funeral home with Brother Kenny Mallard officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery, in Aldrich, Missouri.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel Bolivar, Missouri.
