Shirley Ann Duncan, age 84, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on May 25, 2026, at Springfield Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. Shirley was born to Emry Hylton and Margaret Hylton on November 3, 1941 in Norwood, MO. There she grew up alongside her brother, Duane.
Later in life, Shirley was employed as an accountant with Great Southern Bank. When not working, she had many interests and pastimes including hosting every family party or holiday occasion with a house fully decorated to match, shopping at Dillards, an always classy dressed lady, or enjoying a good glass of red wine while listening to some country music. Nothing, however, brought her more fulfillment than being a mother and a Nanny to her grandbabies. Shirley will be remembered as the life of the party and a warm hug.. Shirley leaves behind a legacy of pig decor in her home, bright red finger nails, and a wonderful home cooked meal.
Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Emry Hylton; and mother, Margaret Hylton and her partner of over 20 years, Jerry Lasley. She is survived by her daughter Tanya Rust; soon to be son-in-law Toby Emery; step-son Jerry Wayne Lasley, granddaughter Allyson Rust; grandson Hayden Breite and his wife Bekah; granddaughter Chelsea Breite; great-grandchildren Braxton Kay, and Raelyn Jackson-Breite; brother Duane Hylton and his partner Soon Hui; and one niece, Angie Love and her husband Rob; her great-niece, Abbie Buck and great-nephew Jake Love.
A Graveside Service for Shirley will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with a burial to follow.
