Shirley Jean Stafford, a beloved wife, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on December 9, 2025, in her home. Shirley was born on January 20, 1956, in Breman, Ohio, to Bobby and Wilma Palmer. Shirley was a proud graduate of Fair Grove High School and found fulfillment in her career in sales within the interior decorating industry.
Shirley was wed to Daniel Lee Stafford on November 22, 1973, and resided in Springfield, MO, where they lived near her parents.
Shirley had a fervent passion for listening to audiobooks, particularly her cherished Bible, which brought her comfort and inspiration throughout her life. She enjoyed the tranquility of piecing together puzzles and the warmth of friendship, spending cherished moments in the company of those she loved. Shirley was a devoted member of Central Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing with The Central Gospel Singers.
Shirley leaves behind her loving spouse Daniel Stafford, her sister Donna Whitcher, her beloved dog and friend Annie, along with a host of family and friends. The joy she brought to their lives will never be forgotten, and her memory will forever reside in the hearts of those she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby and Wilma Palmer, brother Larry Palmer, and a sister Violet Hood.
A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held Friday December 19, 2025, at 3 PM in Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
