In Loving Memory of Shirley Trogdon West
Shirley Trogdon West, born January 13, 1940, in Strafford, Missouri, passed away surrounded by the love and memories of the many people whose lives she touched.
Shirley was the beloved wife of Harry Lee West, with whom she shared 52 wonderful years of marriage before his passing. Their love and life together were a treasured part of her story.
She leaves behind her loving children: LeAnne and husband Todd Long, Curtis Gregory and wife Eden, and Duncan Kristopher and wife Vanessa. She was a proud grandmother to Alexander, Nathan, Evan, Noah, Cheyenne, Gregg, and Grace, and a cherished great-grandmother to Clyde, Jessie, and Cooper.
Shirley is also survived by her siblings Jerry and wife Dana, Sharon Kay and husband Bob, Jean and husband Keith, Garry, Sheryl, and Larry, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless dear friends.
Shirley was a woman whose beautiful, ready smile could brighten any room. She was always positive, kindhearted, and thoughtful, continually putting others before herself. Her warmth and genuine care for people made her deeply loved and will be remembered by all who knew her.
A woman of faith, Shirley was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness. Her faith was an important part of her life and brought her comfort, hope, and strength.
She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—Facebooking, working on word search books, and sitting by her window watching the birds outside. And, of course, Shirley enjoyed a stiff drink now and then, always with her favorite saying:
“It’s five o’clock somewhere!”
That little phrase captures so much of her fun-loving spirit and ability to enjoy the moment.
Shirley leaves behind more than memories. She leaves a legacy of love, kindness, faith, laughter, and a beautiful example of thinking of others. Her smile, her humor, her generous heart, and the love she gave so freely will live on in her family and in the many lives she touched.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
